ODMA Announces New Industry Awards for 2025 Fair
The Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA) introduces a fresh lineup of industry award categories for the upcoming ODMA Fair 2025, set to take place in Darling Harbour, Sydney. These awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellence, innovation, and dedication across the optical industry.
Nominations are officially open until the end of March 2025, allowing businesses and individuals to highlight their achievements. Following the nomination period, voting will commence in April 2025, culminating in the much-anticipated announcement of winners on Friday, June 27, at the ODMA Fair.
ODMA CEO Amanda Trotman expressed her excitement about the revamped awards structure, stating, “This year, we've designed the awards to ensure the entire industry can participate—from storefronts to product innovation. We've also made the process flexible, allowing people to nominate in one category or several, based on their preference.”
The ODMA Awards 2025 will feature a diverse range of categories that highlight outstanding contributions to the industry. Here’s a look at this year’s award categories:
- Independent Practice of the Year – Recognising exceptional optical practices demonstrating outstanding customer service, community involvement, and business success. Nominations can include details such as renovations, team performance, customer engagement, and financial or patient outcomes.
- Supplier of the Year – Independent practices can nominate their preferred instrument provider, highlighting the type and brand of equipment they value most.
- Top Supplier Customer Service Team – Acknowledging supplier teams that deliver outstanding customer service and support to independent optical businesses.
- Sales Representative of the Year – Recognising sales professionals who go above and beyond to support independent practices with exceptional service.
- Instrument of the Year – Celebrating innovative optical equipment that has significantly impacted independent practices.
- Versatile Frame of the Year – Showcasing standout eyewear frames that offer adaptability, appeal, and a diverse colour range.
- Window Dressing Award – Honouring independent practices that create eye-catching and effective window displays. Businesses can submit up to two different displays, along with supporting images.
